If you are looking to start a YouTube channel, now is the best time to do so. As of June 2023, YouTube has changed the eligibility requirements to monetize (i.e., earn money from) a YouTube channel.

If you have 500 subscribers with 3 public uploads in the last 90 days, and either 3K valid public watch hours in the last 12 months OR 3M public Shorts views in the last 90 days, you can apply for the YouTube Partner Program and unlock benefits like fan funding and select YouTube Shopping features.

If you have 1,000 subscribers and either 4K valid public watch hours in the last 12 months OR 10M valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days, you can unlock even more benefits including revenue sharing from ads and YouTube Premium.
