Holland America Noordam Interconnecting Interior Staterooms

We just completed a cruise on the Holland America Noordam. We booked two connecting interior rooms 6142 & 6146. Although the rooms were adequate individually, the “connecting” feature left a little to be desired.

Let’s start with the basics, because these are interior staterooms, there is no balcony or view. The interior staterooms are decent size and measure approximately 170-207 sq. feet. However, the “connecting” feature is situated right near the desk and it’s virtually impossible to pass through the rooms when someone is seated at the desk. The “connecting” doors also do not open fully, so it’s also hard to view the TV when you have the “connecting” doors open.

Our preferred method of travels is two connecting staterooms because you get two bathrooms, which is always nice. Keep in mind that you are giving up a tub.
